National Day of Prayer Selects "Come Home America"
The National Day of Prayer was created in 1952 by Congress, signed into law by the President, and is observed on the first Thursday of May each year. Individuals and the Christian community are urged to pray for America and its leadership. Many of you have heard Loose Stone's song, "Come Home, America", in concert or on the Come Home America CD. The theme of this song reflects the fact that our country was founded on Christian principles, and that today, more than ever, America needs to return to one nation under God.
Loose Stone recently sent a copy of "Come Home America" to the National Day of Prayer headquarters in Colorado Springs, CO. After review, National Day of Prayer has decided to include "Come Home America" for distribution. The song will be made available in early 2010 as a download for use by regional, state and local coordinators during National Day of Prayer events. This development has also recently received favorable coverage in The Baptist Courier; the article reprint may be read here.
The 2010 National Day of Prayer is Thursday, May 6, 2010. Please continue to pray regularly for America, our leadership, the National Day of Prayer organization, and Loose Stone.
